Kill Three Birds was a hidden gem I enjoyed in 2020, and today I am going to list a few reasons why this urban fantasy mystery thriller needs to be on your TBR asap! Perhaps someday I will create a whole story diary feature for this book, but for now here are at least 6 reasons to read Kill Three Birds!

Sent to investigate a string of murders in a quiet remote egg, can Hawk Tasifa find the killer before she becomes the next target?

Prentice Tasifa is an investigative hawk whose been deployed from The Order to the small egg of Gould, a mountain village. A missing girl had been found dead. Hawks investigate strange and difficult situations throughout the Kingdom of Aves. They can “see the unseen,” by accessing a unique ability to activate hawk-like vision, a trait they carry through their bloodlines.

When Prentice arrives in Gould, she soon discovers that there isn’t just one bird dead, but three. There’s a serial killer operating in Gould, and she has to find the person before she ends up next.

If you love goddess worship, winged humans, mystery, and magic, this story is for you.

6 Reasons to read Kill Three Birds

♔ Humanoid characters in a fascinating world where they obtain special abilities of their animal (namely birds) clan. For example, the MC Prentice is a hawk who has the ability to fly and has hawk-like vision which serves her well in her line of work as an investigator. 🦅🕊️🐦

♔ Fans of supernatural murder mysteries are in for a treat. There's been a murder in the small egg (town) of a mountain village in the kingdom, and Prentice is sent there to investigate and solve the murder of a girl who first went missing. But what happens when there's not only one murder in this town but three of them? What's going on in this town? And will Prentice find the serial killer before she ends up the next target? 😰

♔ Expect plenty of twists and a whole lot of action. Of course with a thriller murder mystery, it's going to throw some twists at us that will have everyone gripping their seats. It's all part of the fun in the midst of solving some murders all the while Prentice tries to not become the next victim before the murders can be solved.

♔ There's more to the characters of the mountain village of Gould. They have depth, complexities, and an array of personalities, and some of which are utterly delightful. It's fun getting to know them and the town they live in, but with the strange occurrences happening there, you can't help but wonder who can be trusted or if a serial killer is living among them. ⛰️🥚

♔ An enjoyable read even for those who are not fans of murder mysteries. The world, characters and magic are truly fascinating all on their own or in any kind of storyline, and it's fun getting to know them.

If you've enjoyed the story by the end, then you might be eager to see where the story goes in the next installment, A Theft Most Fowl (which is available now).
