{Raditorial} Museum of Ice Cream | San Francisco, CA

museum of ice cream san francisco

i celebrated my 26th birthday at the museum of ice cream in san francisco last week with my friends, and after showing my parents and siblings (little sis is an ice cream connoisseur) the photos we took, they wanted to check it out so we took a quick family trip to the museum. having visited the museum three times already, somehow every visit gets better and better. i've only been to the ones in LA and SF, and personally i like SF the best.

it was pretty cool to see all the ice cream-themed exhibits, although the lines and crowds were not. some of the exhibits were interactive and full of ice cream fun facts. some exhibits gave away free ice cream, pop rocks, cotton candy & lemonade for those with a sweet tooth out there. as you go through the exhibits, you'll find yourself jumping into the sprinkles pool, to candyland with a gummybear, to a crawl space that's made of all mirror, to a unicorn, to a ring toss game, to a 1950s diner with a jukebox, to a magnetic exhibit with refrigerator magnets to leave your mark, and more. there's also a set of swings perfect for the (insta)gram.

originally opened as a pop-up museum for a few months, by demand they extended it. twice. we're glad to hear that the museum of ice cream is here to stay permanently! so if you've planned on a visit to san francisco one day in the near future, make sure to put this down as one of your stops (if you're into ice cream and sweets). currently there are museum of ice creams in san francisco, LA, NYC and miami.

{raditorial} consumnes river preserve | galt, ca

Sep 19, 2016

yesterday we set off to adventure a nature preserve that's 20 miles away from us, and found ourselves here. consumnes river preserve, located in galt, ca is a 46,000 acre nature preserve. the preserve is home to over 200 bird species, over 400 plants, as well as cranes, pintails, hawks, stilts and turkeys. we unfortunately didn't get to see much of the animals besides turkeys during our treck, but we did enjoy the walk through the serene nature the walk provides.

the preserve offers fairly easy nature trails, where sometimes you won't even spot another human being if you go during off-peak months. the pristine trail offers beautiful sights of the lush varieties of plants and occasional wildlife, that leads to a man made wooden walkway that ends with a deck, which is an amazing spot to watch the sunset for the perfect (insta)gram.

other than hiking, you can also go paddling in the river, go fishing, driving tours, nature watch and more. they also offer guided tours and school field trips.
they do restorations to preserve the nature and wildlife, and they allow anyone who's interested to volunteer. to learn more, visit their website here.

{raditorial} legoland | carlsbad, ca

Mar 31, 2016

my family and i went on a 8-hour road trip to legoland in carlsbad, ca ealier this month. it was the little siblings (and my dad's) first time going, and mine and my mom's second time. while there were many attractions, it was no surprise that we spent majority of the time in the star wars attraction. the boys are die-hard star wars fans, so you can probably guess how hyped they were in the star wars area.

there was no star wars installation when i was here when i was a kid, so part of this trip felt new to me too.

i'm so happy the little ones got to experience this, and i hope we can take them back to explore the rest of legoland when they're a bit older.

♥ have you been to legoland (in ca or fl) before?
what's your favorite attraction? if you haven't been
yet, which attractions are you most excited to visit? ♥

California State Fair | Sacramento, CA

Jul 23, 2013

The California state fair in Sacramento, CA is open July 12-28 this year, which highlights summer in the city I call home. There's something for everyone of all ages from the slides and rollercoasters for the kids, test drive sports cars for the adults, all the fried foods you can think of for the foodies, monster truck shows and rides, zip lines, cirque de solel shows, brewfest and winetasting, bull riding, carnival games, free concerts, and fun yet sometimes educational exhibits, and more.

What's cool is that they have a Read to Ride program that encourages kids K-8 to read where if they read two books, they get two free ride vouchers! My favorite thing about the state fair is that is it not only bigger than the county fairs around here, but because now that I can drive, I got to drive a yellow Chevy Camaro (hi, Bumblebee!). But mostly, the fried oreos.
